Quickstep with my needle

Not Slow cloth.
Slow-sew-quick-quick-slow-cloth.

I love the idea of slow cloth but I am always anxious to know where I'm going quickly and using the sewing machine makes that happen.
I slowly when I make the felt.
It dries very slowly and slowly slowly I work out where I'm going to machine.
Then I have a quick quick time on my machine.
Outlining , defining laying down the structure.
Then finally I have a slow slow slow time which is most enjoyable, adding hand stitch. I have to restrain myself from doing too much.
And here's a piece I'm making slow progress with.
Work in progress.
I've done more since this picture..and there's more to do.

Long time no comment, I've not been a good blogger recently.
Beautiful stitching on fab felt. Holiday looked good too, I'm sure the colours in the Indian style drapes will inspire you x

Oh Jackie those pieces are fantastic! I love, love free sewing and find it quite therapeutic(but I may have mentioned this many times already!!) so wondered if you do as well? Just wish I could find time to do more of it! Mind you mine definitely doesn't match up to yours in any way!
The colours in the last image are amazing!
I'm quickly knowing I love your work while I slowly, slowly take in every detail! ;D ♥x♥

Lovely pieces. It's so good to be able to combine speed with the slow relaxation of hand stitching

gorgeous as usual... I, too, sometimes alternate machine to hand and back again. Your machine stitching is so lovely and expressive!

Fab. I love how the different techniques each add something special but also work together so well.

Such beautiful colours in your work :)

Nothing wrong with using the machine with intent :) Combining hand and machine still leaves marks of *your* hand. The colours and shapes of these remind me of peeks under the forest and mountain canopies here, very beautiful, peaceful.

You get the best of both worlds with your technique - or perhaps that should be three worlds counting the felting process. I love these two pieces - every part of the design complements the other parts and the colours are, as always, beautiful.

Simply stunning! Your felt pieces are so beautifully put together even before you add stitch.

I had a sympathetic smile at your slow-sew-quick-quick-slow. Making the felt can be frustratingly slow (although satisfying) and the machining is 'all go' but the hand-stitching is a lovely, relaxing time.

Lovely examples of your beautiful work.

fascinating to see the last piece partly done - transforming from a pretty but unremarkable piece of felt into a beautiful jewel-like tapestry. Lovely
